What is the objective of the training course?
Christophe Reight (general manager of the French 7-a-side and women’s teams) : There is a double objective because we are at the end of the season. We are preparing for the Toulouse tournament and after that we will train for the London tournament. Then we’ll have a final tournament in mid-July in New York. So we are really preparing for the end of the season to finish well.
Jorge Novoa (Uruguay Rugby 7s manager) : Arrived in Capbreton for a preparation camp this week before our participation in the Toulouse tournament. The objective is to prepare ourselves well to play the best game, so that we can give our best on the field of play.
Why Capbreton?
Christophe Reight : We are here especially in a continuity. We’ve been doing some training here in Capbreton for over a year now.
We wanted to relocate some of our training courses so that we wouldn’t always be in the same place. The objective is to work in continuity on these sites to prepare for the Olympic Games.
Jorge Novoa : Here in Capbreton we had a great time. The training ground is superb, we went to the beach, to visit the town and we are very happy.
What about the equipment and facilities?
Christophe Reight : Capbreton is a site, we’ve been coming here for a year in partnership with the town hall to improve the facilities. There are very good structures and in the framework of the Olympic Games, it is true that there are possibilities for us to develop these structures. We have always been well received here, we know the Landes well, so we are not in unknown territory. We also need to have a landmark and to stay in the same place to be confident in everything we do. So that’s the continuity of what we put in place on the ground, and to feel good.
