The British rowing team’s top athletes are training ahead of their major competitions back in their home country. This is an opportunity for the young athletes from Hampton College to prepare for their regattas in an environment that is specially dedicated and tailored to their needs, at the Soustons Lake. Hampton College is known to be one of the most academically successful schools in the UK. For their young athletes, they choose the best French equipment. This marks another episode in our series 👉 [I will train at your place!] Soustons Training Center. Soustons and the South Landes Coast: A Land of Sports for the 2024 Olympics 🔥
Au micro Colin Greenaway
COLIN, WHAT ARE THE OBJECTIVES OF THIS TRAINING CAMP?
We came here for the final phase of our preparation.
When we return to the UK, we’ll begin our real racing season.
This is the perfect opportunity to train the boys and get them into the rhythm, ready for competition.
In terms of FACILITIES?
The environment here is ideal: it allows us to do what we need to and achieve the results we’re aiming for.
It’s very peaceful, we have the lake all to ourselves, the gym, the ergos…
But above all, we can bring everyone together and train in a calm and focused setting.
Our main goal is the National Schools Regatta at the end of May.
This training camp is a real opportunity to lay the foundations and properly prepare the crews for that race.
