The Monaco Sevens team feels right at home at the Isle Verte Center in Soustons as they prepare for the three stages of the SuperSevens over a 15-day period. They come here for the all-in-one facilities, but above all to combine performance with quality of life. Cohesion and role definition, both on and off the field, are key goals of this camp.

HI FABIEN, CAN YOU TELL US WHAT THIS TRAINING CAMP IS ABOUT?

The objective of the Soustons training camp was to prepare for the three stages of the Supersevens. So we arrived at the very beginning of August, spent 15 days training here, and last weekend we played the first stage in Mont-de-Marsan.

HOW DO YOU FIND THE FACILITIES AT PARC DE SOUSTONS?

From a sporting perspective, we have everything on-site: the pitch, the weight room, the recovery and common areas. In terms of nutrition, we know exactly what the players need. And the setting also allows us to work hard on the field, but then unwind by the lake, creating a peaceful atmosphere to recover calmly and be in the best mental condition.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS TRAINING CAMP?

This morning, we did weight training. Then we continued with a structured session, with clarity, in line with what we wanted to put into practice this afternoon. And this afternoon, we had a high-intensity training session simulating match conditions, to master the pace of runs and contacts and prepare for the tournament.
