The 42 best young French rugby players (under 16 and under 17 categories) gathered in Soustons for an advanced rugby sevens training camp and talent identification for future high-level competitions. It was an opportunity to perform at the Centre de l’Isle Verte facilities, just as the French national team and other renowned internationals had done before them.

THOMAS, IN WHAT CONTEXT DOES THIS TRAINING CAMP TAKE PLACE?

For 5 days in Soustons, we will have several events, including the Elite Jeunes. These are young players participating over 5 days — under 16 and under 17 — the best in France, 42 players across both categories, who are here to continue developing their rugby sevens skills.

WHAT IS THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS PROGRAM?

To develop as rugby players, and also with the aim of identifying the best talents, some of whom may take part in the Under-18 European Championship in July.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU KNOWN THE SOUSTONS CENTER?

I was fortunate to live not far from here. So I’ve known the Soustons center for many years as a Landais, and it’s a real pleasure to return to L’Isle Verte and use the Soustons facilities, which for many years have hosted numerous French rugby training camps.
