SPORTING OBJECTIVE OF THE CAMP

For us, the day is about sharing experience. First, between the France Rugby Sevens team and the Olympic Academy, meeting potential under-18 players. At the same time, we are running an elite youth camp for U16 and U17 players, focusing on talent identification with a view to the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games and various European U18 Sevens Championships.

TECHNICAL OBJECTIVE OF THE CAMP

The first strategy is, as mentioned, performance-based, but also aims to familiarise our Top 14 and Pro D2 coaches who are involved in the Sevens programme. The goal is to give them the opportunity to explore this format of the game with their respective players, alongside coaches experienced in Top 14, Pro D2, academy systems, and youth rugby.

This helps build connections, relationships, and the sharing of expertise, while also supporting the growth of the In Extenso Supersevens, the federal elite Sevens circuit, and the overall development of the game. It also aims to introduce all levels, including Crabos and Alamercery age grades, to the Olympic version of rugby — Rugby Sevens.

FACILITIES AT THE VENUE

I’m very pleased to be back here because you can really see the improvements year after year. There’s clear progress: the pitches are in excellent condition, and the facilities have been modernised, including a high-quality performance training centre.
